Mobile Device Management · Thunder Bay
Mobile device management that secures every device.
Keep company data secure on phones and tablets — with the ability to enforce policies, push apps, and remotely wipe a lost device.
Your team's phones are part of your network.
Staff smartphones access company email, files, and systems. Without MDM, a lost or stolen phone is a data breach waiting to happen. DVG Systems sets up and manages your MDM environment so every device stays secured and compliant. MDM integrates directly with our managed IT and network security services for unified device and network protection.
- Microsoft Intune and Jamf deployment
- Device enrollment (iOS and Android)
- Remote wipe for lost or stolen devices
- App deployment and management
- PIN and encryption policy enforcement
- Separation of personal and work data
Why it matters
- A lost phone can expose company email and files
- BYOD (personal devices) create compliance gaps
- MDM lets you wipe company data without touching personal content
- Required for many cyber insurance policies
Why mobile security matters
The phone in your employee's pocket is now a full workstation. It has your email, your shared files, your Teams chats, and often saved passwords — and it leaves the building every single day. It rides in trucks, gets left on job sites, and occasionally gets stolen or simply lost. Without mobile device management, a lost phone means an open door into your business, and you have no way to slam it shut remotely.
The quieter risk is staff turnover. When someone leaves, their personal phone walks out with a copy of company data still on it. MDM is what lets you cleanly remove your data from their device on the way out — without wiping their photos, texts, or personal apps. It's the difference between a controlled off-boarding and a hope-and-pray one.
How DVG handles it
We set up and manage the whole environment so you're not left administering it yourself. That means enrolling company and personal devices, applying sensible security policies (screen-lock PINs, encryption, minimum OS versions), and pushing the apps your team needs so a new hire's phone is work-ready on day one. If a device is lost or an employee leaves, we can remotely retire the company data on request. Because MDM plugs into the same managed environment as your email and security, the rules are consistent everywhere — not a separate island someone forgets to update.
Built for how the North works
A lot of Northern Ontario work happens away from a desk — home care, field service, trades, First Nation community programs, sites spread across long drives. That mobile-first reality is exactly where MDM earns its keep, because your data is out in the world more than it's sitting in an office. And when the nearest in-house IT person might be hours away — or not exist — being able to secure or wipe a device remotely, without a truck roll, isn't a nice-to-have.
Mobile device management: common questions
If I enroll a personal phone, can you see my texts and photos?
No. Properly configured MDM separates work data from personal data. We manage the company side — email, work apps, security policy — and can remove that company data if needed, without touching your personal content. We'll walk your team through exactly what is and isn't visible.
What actually happens when a phone is lost or stolen?
You tell us, and we can remotely retire the company data on that device so email and files can't be accessed. On a company-owned phone we can wipe the whole device; on a personal one, we remove only the work portion.
Does this work for both iPhones and Android?
Yes — MDM covers both iOS and Android, so a mixed fleet is fine. Policies and app deployment can be tailored per platform.
Do we need MDM for our cyber insurance?
Increasingly, insurers ask about mobile security controls, and MDM is a common way to satisfy those questions. We can't speak for your specific policy, but we can help you meet the requirements your insurer sets.
Is MDM included in managed IT, or is it extra?
It sits outside the user bundle and is added per user or per device as needed, billed at cost plus 20%. You can see how billable and included services break down on our what's included in managed IT page.
